Great Likes Fiber Show!

Image
I went on a yarny adventure last weekend with Alissa and Bonny – to the Great Lakes Fiber Show in Wooster, Ohio! This was my first time to this event, though Alissa has been there in years past. Bonny and I flew in to Cleveland, then Alissa picked us up and off we went to Wooster for a long weekend of yarn fun. I highly recommend this fiber fest. It has buildings and buildings of vendors and displays, yarn, spinning, sheep, yarn, rabbits, food vendors, and more yarn. We got to watch a sheepdog herding some lambs and pet some rabbits. All the things you need for a great long weekend! Alissa and I also went to a ghost hunt at the somewhat nearby Ohio State Reformatory . This older reformatory is famous for being the place where the Shawshank Redemption was filmed, along with a few other movies. Now it is being preserved as a historical location, and occasionally they run paranormal events there. Alissa and I got a rempod and an EMF meter and spen...

Project Progress

Since the last time I checked in, there has been some progress on my three (3) current projects, which is maybe too many projects for me. Anyway! My argyle cardigan fronts are moving along! I bound off for the arm/sleeve area and in a few more inches can start neck edge decreases. The original pattern has a crew neck, but I like a V-neck, so I’m converting it. My Half Moon Tee, which I am KALing with Alissa , is also coming along! I have a few more pattern bands, then just plain stockinette for a while. As a side note, I bought the purple yarn on a yarn crawl a few years ago, and am VERY happy with how it is showing up here. Yay for random yarn buys! This success has likely fueled some upcoming yarn shopping misbehavior, but I can’t grudge it. And finally, I am a little behind on my full moon afghan squares, but very happy with how they are all turning out. The horses on the Lunar New Year and the Artemis II mission patch are both commercial sewn pa...

Almost to Spring!

Image
It’s that time of year again where we are aaaaalmost, but not entirely, to spring. I’m itching to get some veggies and flowers planted, but we aren’t quite there yet. It’s still hovering around freezing a few nights a week, so we wait. In the meantime though: We did get a few hanging baskets for the front porch just to get a little color going! We have to bring them in some nights, but it’s worth it. How about where you are? Has spring sprung, or are you waiting too?
