Yesterday was my 10 year blogiversary! I had the sense I had been doing this for kind of a while so went looking back in the list of posts. April 24, 2016 was post #1 – so here is a blast from the past Obligatory origin story . Doing this blog has helped me find so many wonderful friends and otherwise been such a great thing! Looking forward to many more years of sharing stories and projects and adventures with you all, and reading about all of your thoughts and activities as well!

The days are getting away from me! I am trying to catch up with blog reading, so hopefully will catch up with everyone soon. In between class work and house stuff I have gotten some knitting in though. The argyle cardi fronts are coming along! And for anyone who is wondering what the backs look like: There are a few ends to weave in. But I will worry about that later! I also started a new sweater project – a Half Moon Tee , which is KAL I’m doing with Alissa of AlissaMakes ! As you can see, it’s not that far along yet, but I do like it so far. The full moon afghan squares are moving along pretty well. The first few just have a little more embellishment left to do and the latest one is still under construction. So hopefully I will have some finished ones to share here soon. I need to get going on those, because there are TWO full moons in May, and I’d kind of like to keep up with them if at all possible. How about you? What are you working on and how is it going?

The argyle fronts of my Peggy Sue cardigan are coming along! It is taking longer than I hoped, but it’s a little fiddly to do, so I can’t complain too much. This is one full repeat of the pattern. Now I need to do that 2 more times and I’m done! I’m alternating between this and the moon afghan squares, which I am enjoying quite a bit. What are you doing and how is it going?

I just got back from a visit to my DH’s family in Pennsylvania. We drove there and back, which in hindsight was not a great plan – it took 2 days each way! We did get to see a few sights, and stopped to visit with Alissa of AlissaMakes and her DH, which was a real treat Other than that, we did a quick stop at the American Giants museum and a stop at Mosser Glass . Mosser Glass was pretty cool if you are interested in pressed glass. I’m not super into it, but its also doesn’t take long to go through it, so on balance, worth a stop. There was not as much as you would think to see or do at the American Giants museum. But mainly what I did was knit. Four full days of car travel and four days visiting with family = eight days of knitting! I cast these on the day before we left and bound them off about an hour from home on the way back. If we ever do this trip again, I’m definitely doing socks as my road trip project! The yarn is a Perfect Pairs set in the Equinox colorway from Must S...

Other than the moon squares, I have one work in progress right now, which is an argyle cardigan. The back, which is plain gray, is done, so now I am starting on the fronts. It’s much slower going because I have a bunch of little bobbins of yarn I have to try to keep untangled, but it is fun. It is the Peggy Sue cardigan , and I am using the yarn that came in the kit. I am probably going to be working on this for a while, but I’m happy with how it looks so far! What are you working on and how is it going?

I got most of the embellishment done on the three moon yarn squares I’ve done so far! Mostly I just embroidered the full moon name and date on the moons and added a little extra fun. At first the wolf moon was just going to get the regular wolf patch sewn on. But then I saw the werewolf patch, and that seemed pretty necessary too The snow moon might need a few more snowflakes, and I keep thinking the Lunar New Year square needs a little more pizzaz. I don’t want to add too much stuff because this will be a blanket, but a little something. Any thoughts? Throw them in the comments! I have started on the next square which is for the Worm moon – that one will be getting some worm decorations, which should be fun. Maybe just a few little i-cord worms? Not sure yet. I do also have a few WIPs in progress, but more about them later this week!

Well, this was an extra-long break! There was a lot of life stuff going on this past few weeks, but hopefully it has calmed down, at least for a while. I’m going to try to post at least once a week going forward, and also keep up with reading everyone’s posts! Will be catching up this week. In any case, the back of my Peggie Sue cardigan is done and the fronts are started. No picture for this post because there’s not much to see at this point. However, my Moons of 2026 blanket squares are coming right along! I have 2 1/2 crocheted, though not embellished yet. The far left block is the Wolf moon, the middle is the Snow moon, and the block on the right is for Lunar New Year, which I know is a new and not a full moon, but it’s still important. I may need to do one more round on the two that are done to hopefully square them up a bit more. I don’t have a pattern, so just kind of making it up as I go.
