What’s Next?

Well, I’m tired of thinking about my Melville sweater, and I bet you are tired of reading about. So instead, here’s what’s next!

The Peggy Sue cardigan is next in my project lineup! (photo is from the directions – much better images at the link)

I bought the kit for this sweater years ago when Craftsy was getting out of the yarn-selling business, and just never got around to making it. At the same time I also bought enough of the sky blue and the red to make tanks or tees to go with the cardigan. I’m not sure what patterns I’m going to use for those, but have a few idea.

The argyle is only on the front, so the sleeves and back are all just plain stockinette, and the yarn is a slightly heavier weight, so this should be a nice quick project!

Melville is moving along – I’m pretty far along on the first sleeve and pushing to get it done. But in the meantime I’ll be winding this yarn and getting ready for my Peggy Sue!

My disco babushka is done! Overall, a quick and easy knit, and lots of fun. You could easily do this without the sequins if you are bling-averse, but they are easy and fun to add. The pattern is Dotty Disco by Olga Buraya-Kefelian, and the yarn is Ewetopia’s Silk and Mohair in the color Vintage Jar. I just got the sequins from Amazon, and they worked fine. I have also been working a lot on a Christmas present project that I cannot share quite yet. However, we are going on a few holiday adventures in the near future, so should have something to share. I am working on catching up with blog reading – so sorry to have fallen behind on reading everyone’s posts! How are you all doing? What are you working on right now?

Home Work

Over the weekend we finished a project we have been meaning to do since we bought the house – fixed and updated an outside planting box. The planting box runs across the front of the house, and was coming apart. We decided we wanted to take apart just this end and sort of step the wall down. Also, since this corner of the yard is shady, I wanted to plant some ferns and moss in the end section. I have been wanting a shade garden for a while, and this was my chance! It took us a couple of weeks, as it was harder than we thought it would be, and there was a lot of dirt and decorative stone to move. However… Ta da! It’s done! We did use masonry cement to stick the stones together, so it should be sturdier. And without the weight of all the extra dirt inside, it should have less pressure to fight against. Thursday ThWIPs

Still working on those two main projects – Melville and the Astronomy socks. Still working on the yoke of my Melville. Just a few more rows until I can divide! My Astronomy socks are almost done – just one more stripe then the ribbing with some more of the toe/heel yarn. These socks are way longer than I normally make, but I want to use up every bit of this yarn! What are you working on these days, and how is it going?
