I have 3 active projects in the works right now, which is probably too many. However, that happens sometimes k My argyle cardigan is coming right along – the body is done, and I’m about halfway with the sleeves. It’s taking a while because it’s just boring old stockinette. However, I want this thing DONE, so I’m trying to push through. I’m also working on a Yorlin cardi – pattern by Kate Davies, and the yarn is Knit Picks Palette in Cherry. I’m just a few rows away from being able to separate out the sleeves, so the rows are super long right now. But I’m almost there! And finally, I started on Sirdar’s Pumpkin Spice crochet-along ! I definitely did not need this project in the lineup right now, but the blanket is so pretty I couldn’t resist. It’s been quite a while since I had a finished object to post, and I’m pretty jazzed about this one! My Megalodon cowl is done! The front and back have this main pattern of a shark framed by meg jaws. And there are shark (or megalodon) teeth on the sides For anybody interested, the pattern is not out yet, but will be in time for shark week! The design is by Mary Hunt of hunthandknits. I used stash yarn from Fangirl Fibers, but if you look for the megalodoncowl# on Instagram, you will see the many beautiful color combinations people are using in their test knits. Now, back to my regularly scheduled knitting!

Behold – the shark appears! The frame around the shark is a big megalodon jaw and a few big shark teeth at the edges. Really enjoying this knit, and if you are looking for some Shark Week knitting, this might be a good one to consider This is a test for a pattern called Megalodon cowl by Mary Hunt. The yarns are stash by Fangirl Fibers from a yarn club years ago, though she might conceivably bring these back for this cowl launch!

It has been a busy couple of weeks! But I have gotten some knitting done in between other things. My argyle cardi is coming along really well. The back and fronts are done as is the button band, and I’m on the sleeves. My Blue and Strawberry moon squares for the full moon afghan are mostly done. The Blue moon square does have stitching on it, but it’s kind of invisible, so I need to work on that. Strawberry moon doesn’t have the moon name or date on it yet. Once those are done, I can put together a row with the Flower moon one. And finally, since I didn’t have enough projects going, I volunteered to test knit the Megalodon cowl pattern, designed by Mary of hunthandknits. It is a very cool pattern, which will be out just in time for Shark Week knitting! DH and I went on a short adventure on Saturday to visit Sheboygan, WI. I had 2 primary goals there: visit the Kohler Art Preserve and walk on the beach. We stopped at the Kohler Art Preserve first. I had been wanting to see an exhibit of grottoes and other folk art there for a while, and it did not disappoint. It is a great museum, and we got to see a lot of interesting and moving pieces. Part of the grottoes exhibit was still there, though part had moved on. Our next stop was lunch at a Hmong restaurant, which is a cuisine we had not tried before. It was delicious! Would definitely go back there again. After that, a quick stop at the Last Sheepicorn, a yarn shop I had visited and written about a few years ago. Sadly, they are closing down at the end of this month, though they have hopes of finding a buyer. Then finally, we got to walk on a Lake Michigan beach! It’s been a while since I wrote about my knitting projects, and there is a lot going on. Since the last time I have started another sweater and a pair of socks, but have not finished any of my previous WIPs. Here goes! There’s been some reasonable progress on my Peggy Sue cardigan fronts since last time! About an inch more and they will be done and ready for the next step! I have made a little more progress on my Half Moon tee , but it is sort of the back burner for the moment. I did get a little bit into the colorwork band with the moons, but not all the way through. I am delighted to report I have been on a few yarn-related mini-adventures over the last week since I posted! Last Saturday, DH and I drove the the sort-of-nearby Wollersheim Winery, Distillery, and Bistro . Wollersheim has a wine that I do like and buy somewhat frequently. The last time I got some, the cashier gushed about her recent visit to the winery and made it sound pretty good. Reader, she was not exaggerating. It’s a pretty winery, with lots of places to drink some wine or spirits, a bistro to snack in, and many opportunities to shop. We started out in the bistro and had some pretty good gyros. Then on to the wine shop! You could pay to taste 5 different wines, which seemed like a pretty good bargain. The lady doing the wine “tour” we were on was very knowledgeable, and was not shy about crossing stuff off on our pick lists and suggesting other wines to try. After I tried one dry red wine (my least favorite category, but I thought I should try at least one)...
